AltRed helps you break through that training plateau, whether you’re increasing your weekly mileage or pushing the pace. Unlike other sports nutrition products that are designed to fuel your working muscles, keep you hydrated, or replenish electrolytes, AltRed works to allow your aerobic system to function at its optimal level. This means it improves blood flow & oxygenation, raises lactate threshold, etc.
This allows you to sustain an activity for longer. Most people don’t feel a difference until they reach their limit and are able to keep going. Others recognize how they feel fresher and less sore during recovery.

Based on extensive scientific research, we’ve formulated AltRed to be more impactful on performance and recovery than beetroot. AltRed is a 25% betalain extract made from red beets. By comparison, the typical beetroot supplement contains 1% or less betalains.
Our proprietary extraction technology increases the bioavailability, or how much is absorbed by the body, of betalains by 1,000%. This amount cannot be matched by consuming fresh beets, beet juices, or beetroot powders.
AltRed contains no sugar, caffeine, or other added stimulants. We use non-GMO red beets from farms based in the United States.

- Exercise is a form of stress. While it has known health benefits, high training loads can create detrimental effects on immune health and performance.
- Free radicals are unavoidable. Having more free radicals than the body can get rid of or neutralize puts the body out of balance.
- Antioxidants act within the body to stop or slow cell damage by free radicals.
- Immunity is designed to specifically target the five free radicals known to be detrimental to health.*
- High training and competition loads of athletes can make it difficult to obtain adequate antioxidants to balance the amount of stress.
- Supplementing with Immunity can help promote a healthy immune response, inhibit free radicals, and promote optimal health.*
More is not necessarily better when it comes to antioxidants. Based on what we saw in our product development and clinical testing, a broad spectrum of optimally dosed antioxidants has a significant effect on balancing free radicals. What is essential is a wide variety of various plant-based antioxidants called polyphenols.
Typically athletes tend to eat a healthy diet. Yet, the broad spectrum of polyphenols in optimal amounts, such as those found in Sur Immunity, is challenging to consume on a regular daily basis. We are all creatures of habit and tend to look at food from a macro level vs. a broad spectrum micro level, and true variety is in our diet is often overestimated.
Sur Immunity contains more than 100 plant-based antioxidants, each having a unique function in combating oxidative stress. A twice-daily regimen of Sur Immunity provides the benefits of multiple plant polyphenols that are difficult to reach based on diet alone.
The ingredients in Immunity were first screened to understand which class of free radicals in the body each component had an effect on. We looked at the five main classes of free radicals and each ingredient affected each of these five quite differently.
From there, we came up with a rational blend of the plant extracts and powders based on those first screening results so that all five main categories were addressed equally.
In preclinical work, we looked at different dosages of this blend to find the most effective dose, which turned out to be 100 mg.
When we moved on to do the clinical study at 100 mg we found that total ROS (reactive oxygen species) was reduced 20%, mitochondrial ROS was reduced by 42%, and inflammatory response (in part caused by excess free radicals) was reduced by 34%.* This confirmed a strong antioxidative response vs. a pro-oxidative response.
It is important to note that when we performed this study, we were looking at free radicals and ROS in real-time in people. This is the first published clinical study to our knowledge that measured this activity in human subjects.
